Sarah & Tyler’s Wedding

Sarah and Tyler’s wedding day brought all the elements of a memorable love story together: a romance that started during COVID, whimsical vintage-inspired details, an enthusiastic wedding party, a mountain adventure, and weather that certainly kept us on our toes!

As a wedding photographer, I know that no two wedding days are alike. But Sarah and Tyler’s day was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most unforgettable photographs and memories come from embracing the unexpected.

From Hinge to Happily Ever After

Sarah and Tyler’s story began on Hinge during COVID, when the world looked a little different and connecting with someone special often started with a simple swipe. What began as an online connection grew into a love story that brought them to this incredible day, surrounded by family and friends, ready to begin their next chapter as husband and wife.

There is something especially sweet about seeing a relationship that began during such an unusual season of life come full circle in a wedding celebration. From those early conversations to standing together at the altar, Sarah and Tyler’s journey led them to a day filled with joy, laughter, and so much love.

Whimsical Vintage Details in Olive Green, Deep Blue, Gold, and Ivory

The wedding aesthetic was an absolute dream! Sarah and Tyler chose a whimsical, vintage-inspired color palette featuring olive green, deep blues, gold, and ivory. These colors created a timeless, romantic atmosphere with just the right amount of old-world charm.

The olive green added an earthy, organic feel, while the deep blues brought richness and depth. Gold accents added a touch of elegance, and ivory softened everything with a classic, romantic finish.

Together, these colors felt perfectly suited to a celebration that was both sophisticated and full of personality. They complemented the natural surroundings beautifully and created a lovely backdrop for capturing all the thoughtful details of the day.

As a photographer, I love when a couple's design choices tell a story of their own. Sarah and Tyler’s palette had that effortless, collected-over-time feeling that makes vintage-inspired weddings so special.

A Private First Look in the Vineyard: The Most Heartfelt Vows

Before the rain, before the ceremony, before the excitement of celebrating with family and friends, Sarah and Tyler shared one of the most beautiful moments of their wedding day: a private first look in the vineyard.

Surrounded by the quiet beauty of the vineyard, these two had a chance to see each other before the ceremony and share the most heartfelt vows. It was intimate, emotional, and filled with the kind of love that makes you want to pause time for just a little bit.

This is always one of my absolute favorite parts of a wedding day. There is something so special about giving a couple the opportunity to step away from the hustle and bustle, take a deep breath, and simply enjoy each other before standing in front of everyone they love.

No audience. No distractions. No pressure to perform. Just two people who are about to get married, sharing their hearts with one another.

Of course, while Sarah and Tyler were wrapped up in their own little world, the photography and videography team was quietly tiptoeing around them! With two photographers and two videographers working together, we carefully moved around the vineyard to capture every tear, smile, embrace, and meaningful glance without interrupting the moment. It's a little bit of a dance, making sure we're there to document the memories while allowing the couple to feel as though they're completely alone.

And that's exactly how it should be.

A first look isn't just about getting beautiful photographs. It's about creating space for a couple to slow down and be present with one another. Wedding days can move at lightning speed, with timelines, guests, family portraits, and countless little details competing for attention. Those quiet minutes together offer a chance to breathe, reconnect, and remember why you're there in the first place.

Sarah and Tyler's private vows in the vineyard were a beautiful reminder of just how meaningful this time can be. Their words were heartfelt, their connection was undeniable, and the peaceful setting made the moment feel even more sacred.

I encourage all of my couples to consider having a first look. While every couple should choose what feels right for them, I truly believe a first look can be one of the most precious parts of the entire wedding day. It gives you permission to pause, let the nerves settle, and share a memory that belongs just to the two of you.

Long after the flowers have faded and the wedding dress has been tucked away, I hope Sarah and Tyler remember those quiet moments in the vineyard: the heartfelt promises, the happy tears, and the feeling of having the world stand still for just a little while.

Because before the celebration, before the photographs, and before the beautiful chaos of a wedding day, there is you, me, and forever.

And sometimes, that's the most beautiful moment of all. ❤️

Enter Hurricane Rachel!

The original forecast had predicted rain around 9 p.m., so we were hopeful that we would have most of the day to celebrate without too much weather drama.

Mother Nature, however, had a different timeline.

Meet Hurricane Rachel, the uninvited guest who decided to arrive around noon instead!

The rain showed up early, and suddenly we were adjusting plans and watching the skies. But if there was one thing Sarah and Tyler weren't going to let the weather do, it was steal their happiness.

These two were absolutely ebullient! Their excitement was contagious, their smiles never seemed far away, and they embraced the day for exactly what it was. Even as rain drizzled during their ceremony, they remained focused on what mattered most: promising forever to each other.

And honestly, there is something pretty beautiful about beginning a marriage that way. Life won't always follow the forecast, and not every day will bring blue skies. Having someone beside you who makes even the unexpected feel special? That's the good stuff.

A Little Help from an Amazing Wedding Party

One of the highlights of Sarah and Tyler’s day was the wonderful group of people surrounding them. Their wedding party was enthusiastic, encouraging, and ready to roll with whatever the day brought!

That kind of energy makes such a difference on a wedding day. When the weather is unpredictable and plans need to shift, having a crew that stays positive and keeps the excitement going is priceless. They cheered, encouraged, helped keep things moving, and brought so much fun to the celebration.

And then there was Dani!

Dani, an elementary school teacher, absolutely phenomenal at orchestrating the family photos. Anyone who has ever tried to organize a large group of family members for portraits knows that it can feel a little like herding cats. Add a wedding-day timeline and unpredictable weather, and it becomes a true test of patience and organization. Tori and Valeska, you both were amazing and so helpful with planning and execution!

When the Rain Finally Gave Us a Break

The rain drizzled throughout the ceremony, but thankfully, as the ceremony came to an end, the rain stopped.

We seized that window of opportunity and captured beautiful family portraits and romantic photographs of Sarah and Tyler. After keeping an eye on the weather and adapting throughout the day, being able to gather everyone together and create these meaningful memories felt like such a gift.

Off-Roading for the Dreamiest Mountain Portraits

Just when we thought the day had given us enough adventure, it was time for one of my favorite parts: portraits of the newlyweds.

When the opportunity came to head up the mountain for photographs, we took it. And by head up the mountain, I mean we literally off-roaded our way up a bumpy hill to reach the top!

It was an adventure, to say the least. But the timing couldn't have been better. We made it to the top just in time to capture some truly epic photographs of Sarah and Tyler.

There is something magical about stepping away from the busyness of a wedding for a few moments and giving a couple the chance to simply be together. Away from the crowd, the timeline, and the distractions, they can slow down, soak in the fact that they're finally married, and enjoy a few quiet moments as newlyweds.

The mountain setting gave us a beautiful natural backdrop, and the adventure of getting there made the experience even more memorable. Those are the kinds of wedding-day moments I love: a little unexpected, a little wild, and completely worth it.

Sometimes the best photographs happen when you take the road less traveled. Or, in this case, the bumpy hill less traveled!

Wedding days move quickly, and photographs become the way couples revisit the people, emotions, and little moments that made their celebration uniquely theirs. Getting those family photos was especially important, and having such a helpful wedding party and an organized family-photo assistant made all the difference.

And the romantic portraits? Worth every bump in that mountain road!

If Sarah and Tyler’s wedding taught us anything, it's that a beautiful wedding day doesn't require perfect weather, a flawless timeline, or everything going exactly as planned.

It requires love. It requires the people who show up for you. It requires a willingness to laugh when things get a little chaotic and to keep celebrating even when the forecast has other ideas.

Sarah and Tyler had all of that in abundance.

From a love story that began on Hinge during COVID to a whimsical vintage-inspired celebration, from the surprise arrival of Hurricane Rachel to an off-road adventure for mountain portraits, their wedding day was filled with moments that made it entirely their own.

And through it all, they stayed joyful, enthusiastic, and completely focused on each other.

Congratulations, Sarah & Tyler!

Sarah and Tyler, thank you for allowing me to capture the beginning of your marriage. Your day was full of personality, beautiful details, wonderful people, and the kind of genuine happiness that makes photographing weddings such a privilege.

I hope that when you look back at your photographs years from now, you'll remember more than the rain. I hope you'll remember the laughter, the encouragement of your incredible wedding party, the adventure of climbing that mountain, and the feeling of finally becoming husband and wife with your final private dance in the downpour.

Most of all, I hope you'll remember that even when life surprises you with a little rain, you have each other.

May your marriage be filled with adventures, laughter, beautiful unexpected moments, and a love that shines through every season.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! Here's to a lifetime of love, joy, and many more adventures together. ❤️
