I love working with seniors to document this exciting milestone!

Senior sessions are more than just plain photos-they're a way to catch someone's personality, passion and all of the little things that make them unique. For Chloe, Claremont McKenna's gorgeous campus was the perfect backdrop to tell her story.

A Classy and Fun Session at Claremont McKenna

I first met Chloe a few years ago when she modeled for the the CMC Supply Store, showing off her school spirit wear for their website. With her cheerful personality, and her ability to take instruction well, Chloe rocked that session, and it made her college senior session so seamless as she was already familiar with my posing style!

Chloe's session was simply her-classy and fun-loving1 She chose a classic navy and white dress, a timeless look that really popped against the cream colored buildings.

Why Chloe Chose CMC for Her College Senior Pictures

With its cool colorful sculptures, blooming trees and flowers, artistic installations, and beautiful architecture, Chloe knew immediately that CMC just had to be the location for her senior photos! It was the perfect place to commemorate her time as the Class of 2025. One of our favorite stops was at the Massoud building, often referred to as The Kube. The Kube's nickname is quite fitting as it is a stunning outdoor living room constructed of glass. It rests on a few inches of water and appears to be floating. We had so much fun splashing around outside of the Kube. (We actually tried to get inside of the building but we quickly realized that it is closed on weekends!)

We also explored one of the newest art installations. The structure is named "Qwalala" by Pae White. The name refers to a meandering path in California. This incredible piece is made up of more than 1,500 Venetian glass bricks, each weighing nearly 40 pounds! The colorful glass bricks added so much vibrance to our overcast day and made for that perfect pop of color!

Adding Fun and Personality to a Senior Photo Session

Senior sessions are all about celebrating this major milestone, and one of the best ways to make them unique is by adding fun props or interactive elements.

Chloe wanted to keep things simple, and I think it lets her personality shine as the focus! But, we couldn't resist throwing some giant confetti to add a playful touch!

(Pro tip: Throw large confetti so it's easier to clean up! Like your mom always said, "Leave every place cleaner than when you arrived!"

Here Are Some Fun Prop Ideas for Cool Grad Pics

It's totally up to you what you bring! You can bring absolutely nothing but your smile and enthusiasm! Or you can incorporate meaningful props that reflect your interest, hobbies or school experience.

  • Skateboards
  • Bouquets of flowers
  • Cars, motorcycles, bicycles
  • Dogs/Pets
  • Instruments
  • Coffee
  • Old Photos
  • Snacks (ice cream, donuts, your go-to study snack)
  • Champagne or confetti

Honestly, the sky is the limit-as long as it's legal (lol). Whatever you choose, the goal is to showcase you!

Why Have a Graduation Session?

Graduation is a compilation of years of hard work, late-night study sessions and tons of memories. Taking photos will remind you of all of the blood, sweat and tears that you put in to earn that diploma.

It was such an honor to capture Chloe's special day, knowing how much this school means to her and her family. This time with Chloe is what makes my job so rewarding!
